(The European Digital Art and Science Network)

 Created as a result of the previously established collaboration between various partner organizations, this project initiates an active dialogue of artists and scientists, and the creation of a network of institutions which can present this kind of communication and programmes to the widest audience. In the time of complex social, economic and cultural processes and topics, it is beyond doubt that the modern world is largely based on new technologies, the aesthetics of current media and the communication of desired content. The main objective of the project, therefore, is an innovative blend of contemporary scientific research and existing practices in the domain of digital art.

Quantum Music

The Quantum Music project seeks to contribute to a completely new way of conceiving, understanding and perceiving music and quantum physics. This project brings together artists, scientists and engineers around the idea of creating a new, quantum instrument (hybrid piano) and of designing the presentation of quantum phenomena through music. It originated from the idea of connecting the seemingly incompatible worlds of quantum physics and music on a scientific basic, with research based in the art of music and live performance.

Hypatia

The Hypatia project is named after the well-known Greek mathematician from the 4th century A.D. The aim of this project is to attract young people, 13 to 18 years old, to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and to do this in a gender sensitive manner. Local gender equality, science and science communication experts, secondary school teachers and teenagers who are unable to decide what they want to study in the future are all more than welcome to participate in the activities organised as part of the Hypatia project.

COOLandHOT, Researchers’ Night project

The goals of COOLandHOT project are to break down and demystify permanent and repeated stereotypes about researchers, to showcase the real scientists working in Serbia and to involve them in the project in order to increase their visibility in society. At the same time, this promotes research in Serbia and reveals the motives to become a researcher, which can attract young people to engage in scientific careers. It is also important to raise public awareness about the contribution of researchers to progress and development, but also on current problems and challenges in the society, such as climate change and global warming.

European Student Parliament

European Student Parliament is a project initiated by Wissenschaft im Dialog from Berlin with the goal to strengthen dialogue between high school students and scientific researchers in Europe. The student’s parliament, organized by the Center for the Promotion of Science, was held in November 2013, at the National Parliament of the Republic of Serbia. This project was implemented in 17 European countries, with the financial support provided by the Robert Bosch Foundation.

PLACES

PLACES – Platform of Local Authorities and Cities Engaged in Science

Center for the Promotion of Science was the external partner of the European project PLACES, with the goal to develop and connect cities of the scientific culture. PLACES project encouraged science institutions to initiate and empower local policies on science communication. This project rounded up 69 city partnerships in 27 European countries. On behalf of the city of Belgrade, PLACES declaration on the European city of scientific culture has signed at that time mayor of Serbian capital.
